Tallahassee, Fla. (Sept. 15) – The Florida Sheriffs Institute is hosting a class of the Drug Enforcement Agency’s Basic School at the Florida Sheriffs Association Training Center in Tallahassee September 15th – September 26th. 

The course and curriculum development was coordinated by the DEA Miami Field Office.  The first week focuses on Intelligence, Tactical Medical Care, Evidence Handling, Operational Planning, and Surveillance.  The second week emphasizes Searches, Interviews, Money Laundering, Case Development, Case Management and Meth Labs. 

The course has 60 participants representing 28 law enforcement agencies.  This includes 25 participants from our sheriffs’ offices.
