Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches

In 1957, a small group of Florida sheriffs saw the need for a residential care facility for troubled children. With a little bit of cash and a big dream, they pooled their wisdom and efforts and watched their dream become a reality. Within a short period of time, they were helping many children turn their lives around to become productive and responsible adults.

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and groups around the state of Florida, the sheriffs’ original dream has become a reality for many youth and their families. As a result of their caring gifts, the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches now operates four residential campuses, two summer camping locations and youth outreach programs throughout the state. The Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches is credited with helping more than 177,000 children and families in Florida.
