Student Scholarships

FSA Criminal Justice Scholarship

The Florida Sheriffs Association is pleased to invest in the future of our youth by offering scholarships to children of sheriffs’ office full-time employees seeking degrees in the field of criminal justice.  Each year, at least ten scholarships valued at $2,000 are awarded.  To qualify the student must:

  1. Be a dependent son or daughter (stepchildren are eligible) of any full-time sheriff’s office employee,
  2. Be attending a university, college, or community college that is regionally accredited, and be enrolled in a degree- or certificate-seeking program in the fall of the current year.
  3. Certify within the application that they are planning a career in law enforcement, law, corrections, or a related criminal justice field.

How to Appy

Each Sheriff’s office will be notified via email when the application period for this scholarship will be open.  Applications must be submitted by midnight on the day of the deadline.  All applications for scholarships must be accompanied by certain documentation, a list of which is provided in the online application.  Additionally, the required Parent Verification and Waiver Form must be submitted, or the application will not be considered.

  2. Be attending a university, college, or community college that is regionally accredited, and be enrolled in a degree-seeking program in the fall of the current year.
