FSA CPP Is A Member Of The Florida Association Of Special Districts (FASD) & Collaborates With This Organization To Promote Streamlined Administration, Purchasing Efficiencies, & Professionalism In Fleet Management

CPP staff attended and participated in the FASD Annual Conference held in Orlando June 16 – 17, 2021. While in attendance at this conference, CPP staff was able to provide information about opportunities for technical assistance, streamlined administrative efficiencies, and cost benefits of the CPP Program. Thanks to the efforts of FADS President Jim Millican, FSA and FADS are enhancing their partnership and collaboration to meet the needs of special districts throughout Florida.

Florida has more than 1,700 Special Districts.  Special Districts provide limited governmental services for a very specific need, each of them focused on a defined geographic area, mostly local.  Fire control, library, mosquito, water control, community development, and hospital districts are just a few examples of the various types of special districts authorized under Florida law.  Each district provides unique services, but all with the same need to be accountable and accessible to the citizens they serve.

Special districts are eligible purchasers and truly benefit from the discounts on a wide range of vehicles, heavy equipment, and tires including but not limited to:

• fire trucks and other fire rescue vehicles and equipment;
• ambulances;
• cab & chassis heavy trucks with a wide range of options for customized build outs;
• heavy equipment such as bulldozers, chippers, compactors, dump trucks, excavators, generators, lifts, light towers, loaders, low speed vehicles, material handlers, motorgraders, mowers and tractor mowers, all-terrain vehicles, power charging stations, pumps, refuse & waste collection bodies & equipment, roadway advisory boards, rollers, sewer cleaners, shredders, stump cutters, sweepers, tactical vehicles, tool carriers, tractors, trailers, transfer switches, and trenchers;
