The Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA), one of the nation’s largest and most successful law enforcement associations, is pleased to announce its leadership for the 2024-2025 year. The newly elected FSA President, Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell, will work with the staff and board of directors to guide the efforts and direction of FSA and its 67 Sheriffs.

Sheriff Bill Prummell is a dedicated public servant in Charlotte County. Sheriff Prummell began his career in law enforcement in 1992 and has spent his entire 32-year career with the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout his exceptional career, Sheriff Prummell worked his way through the ranks and spent time working across most areas of the agency. In 2013, he was sworn in as the Charlotte County Sheriff. Since his inauguration, Sheriff Prummell has not looked back, winning reelection in 2016 and 2020. Sheriff Prummell is a graduate of the Florida Sheriff’s Institute, the National Sheriff’s Institute, and the 239th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

In this new role, I am dedicated to serving my fellow sheriffs and the people of Florida with integrity, transparency, and unwavering dedication,” says Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prummell. “I look forward to working with our board of directors and staff to guide the efforts and direction of the FSA. Sheriff Prummell’s strong devotion and love to his community are evident through his consistent dedication to protecting and serving the residents of Charlotte County. Sheriff Prummell’s leadership as FSA President will now be prevalent not only across the state of Florida but throughout the entire nation. His commitment to FSA was showcased through his position as Vice President under Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper this past year, in addition to several other leadership roles within the Florida Sheriffs Association.
