FSA Launches New, Integrated Website
March 23, 2011…Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) Executive Director, Steve Casey, has made it a priority since his appointment more than a year ago, to ensure FSA continues to be one of the most effective, interactive and transparent law enforcement associations in the nation. The FSA’s newly-launched website is evidence of his efforts.
“We are thrilled our new website offers features such as an e-newsletter, Web 2.0 technology and hourly legislative updates via Lobbytools for use by our members and stakeholders,” states Casey.
The new website incorporates FSA’s Facebook page, which has more than 470 “likes” and has a comprehensive section dedicated specifically to Legislative issues. Before each Legislative Session, FSA develops their Legislative Priorities and throughout Session these priorities grow larger and evolve. The new website is updated daily by FSA staff and hourly by the Lobbytools’ newsfeed to reflect the FSA’s most recent updates on their position on key issues well as the House and Senate votes on priority bills.
“FSA’s new website reflects our commitment to the public safety of Floridians and our visitors, our dedication to Legislative priorities and our involvement in the development of Florida’s youth,” says FSA President, Sheriff Harrell Reid.
The new website still maintains the URL from the old website. However, the new site is more functional, organized and updated. The FSA staff is able to update the website as often as needed due to the user-friendly content management system, Expression Engine, allowing for timely and accurate information available to all website visitors. Members are able to renew and non-members can become members by signing up online. In addition, visitors to the site are able to sign up for the e-newsletter and weekly Legislative Update. The FSA’s Facebook, YouTube and Twitter accounts are integrated into the new site, connecting Sheriffs, other law enforcement officials and Floridians across the state.
