August 05, 2021

The FSA Cooperative Purchasing Program (CPP) collaborated with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and Florida Association of Government Fleet Administrators (FLAGFA) to provide fleet maintenance training to fleet staff from the LCSO, Leon County, and the City of Tallahassee.

The lead trainer was T.J. Tennent “The Tyre Guy” who is one of the foremost experts in training related to tire and vehicle maintenance and safety. The training focused on prevention, monitoring, and evaluation of maintenance issues based on proper tire and vehicle maintenance. The fleet participants earned 8 hours of professional continuing education credits for participating in this training.

FSA CPP is dedicated to work with other professional organizations and sheriff’s offices, county, city, other law enforcement entity fleets to promote professionalism and advancement of fleet maintenance and management best practices.

For instance, the FSA Executive Leadership Conference & Fleet Exhibition scheduled for November 15-17, 2021 at the Omni Orlando Resort in Osceola County will offer National Association of Fleet Administrators (NAFA) certified CAFM training, and roundtable training in areas such as: manufacturer presentations about electric vehicles; telematics; fleet best practices; and fleet planning and budget preparations for decision makers. These training opportunities at the FSA conference will provide up to 10 hours of continuing professional education credits.
