Sheriff Bob Gualtieri of Pinellas County Awarded the PERF Leadership Award

The Florida Sheriffs Association is proud to announce that Sheriff Bob Gualtieri of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) Leadership Award. PERF’s Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the field of law enforcement. The PERF Leadership Award recognizes an individual who exemplifies the highest principles and standards of a true leader in policing on a national level. The award recognizes innovators whose efforts serve as a model to the law enforcement community and whose vision of policing can be applied on a wide scale. Sheriff Gualtieri is the first sheriff to ever win this award.

The Florida Police Chiefs Association and The Florida Sheriffs Association Honor Fallen Law Enforcement Heroes: Attorney General Ashley Moody Joins the Call

The Florida Police Chiefs Association (FPCA) and the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) are designating the month of September 2020, to honor the service and sacrifice of Florida law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty in 2020, including those who have succumbed to COVID-19 while protecting our communities, and raise awareness of the specific ongoing threat to officers from the COVID-19 virus.

National Teen Driver Safety Week

Car crashes remain the number one killer of American teens and in observance of National Teen Driver Safety Week (October 17-23), State Farm and the Florida Sheriffs Association announce a partnership to help teens stay safe on the road. State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company has provided the Florida Sheriffs Association with a grant to help expand its Teen Driver Challenge program.

FSA Presents Legislative Leadership Awards

During 2010 legislative session, there were a number of key legislators that the Sheriffs counted on to ensure a successful session. The Florida Sheriffs Association has identified those legislators who assisted the Sheriffs most in bills we support, working through bills of concern and helping us defeat bills we opposed.
