Sheriff Ford Saves $4,000 by using FSTI

April 15, 2021

This past summer the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA) launched the Florida Sheriffs Training Institute’s (FSTI) online training program. The program is free for all sheriffs and their personnel and can be used to meet the mandatory training requirement for all sworn and non-sworn personnel.

Recently, Sheriff Tommy Ford of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, used the program to push out a 1-hour training on Protection from Ransomware and Phishing Attacks to all personnel. By using the online training program, Sheriff Ford saved the sheriff’s office $4,000 that would have otherwise been spent on a similar IT training program.

There are currently 29 sheriff’s offices who are active members. FSA staff is pleased to be able to provide this state-of-the-art training for sheriffs, their deputies, and staff. For more information, visit our the training section of the FSA website.
