The rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination is known to be one of the largest mass vaccination efforts in recent history. As our efforts continue to defeat the coronavirus, imposters continue to find ways to scam individuals. Unfortunately, the initial short supply of vaccines gives criminals extended time to create and pursue scams, fraud, and forgery. To protect yourself and those around you, we encourage you to get the COVID-19 vaccine while also being extremely conscious of fraudulent activity.

Below are safety tips for consumers from The Partnerships for Safe Medicines on how to protect yourself and your family from COVID-19 vaccine scams:

  • Do not purchase COVID-19 vaccines and treatments over the Internet.
  • COVID-19 scams are already prevalent. Ignore unsolicited offers for vaccinations that are not from public health agencies, your doctor, or your hospital.
  • Healthcare Professionals: Know your source, and do not purchase COVID-19 vaccines from entities who do not possess pharmaceutical wholesale licenses from your state’s Board of Pharmacy.
